This book is about Sophie. Sophie has epilepsy. Sophie goes through all kinds of things with her animals and lives together with her daddy, mummy and her sister Josefien in a cosy house with the rabbit Max and the chickens. The book is told from Sophie's own experience and we get to see how she experiences a seizure, what happens.
What exactly a seizure is and how it originates. How the brain works. What advice she gets from the neurologist and epilepsy consultant, how you should react when someone has a seizure, what you can do about it such as taking medication, and what you can and cannot do in daily life.
Can I do sports and hike in the mountains? Can I go on a school trip? Should I tell my classmates? The booklet also includes a teacher's guide that can be used with the booklet as teaching material in the classroom.
